Delete your account

You can delete your Sober First Aid account at any time. It takes everything with it, and it cannot be undone. There are two ways to do it.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Google Play, not by us, and one keeps renewing after the account is gone unless you cancel it. Cancel it first at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, or in the Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions.

In the app

Open Profile.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete your account.
Type your username to confirm, then tap Delete my account.

If you signed in a while ago, the app asks you to sign in again first, then tap Delete once more. Stay on the screen while it works; it takes a moment.

By email

If you can’t sign in, or no longer have the app, write to support@soberfirstaid.com from the email address on your account and tell us your username. We reply to that same address to confirm it is you, delete the account, and confirm again when it is done.

We can only act on a request that comes from the account’s own email address. That is how we know it is you.

What is deleted

Your sign-in account, including your email address.
Your profile: your username, which is freed for anyone to use, your profile photo, your sober date and the days you counted, your why, your count of cravings outlasted, and your block list.
Your recordings, including any sent to you, and their audio files.
Your posts, the photos on them, and the replies under them.
Your replies and reactions on other people’s posts.

What is kept, and why

Moderation records. Reports you filed, reports filed about you, and anything a moderator removed. These are kept so that nobody can erase a moderation record by closing their account. They are visible only to moderators.
Purchase records held by Google Play, and by our subscription processor once subscriptions launch. We don’t hold your payment details and never did.
Copies other people already have. If someone saved a photo you posted, that copy is beyond our reach.
Replies other people left under your posts. The post itself is deleted. Their words are theirs, and they can delete them.

Deleting one thing, not everything

You don’t have to close your account to remove something. In the app you can delete a post, a reply, a recording, or your profile photo on its own, and you can change your sober date or your why whenever you like.
